‘Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family.’ – Kofi Annan
Despite various awareness campaigns and disability legislation there still remains a stigma around mental health. My vision is to bring informative, interesting and useful discussion on the subject to easily accessible social media platforms.
As many as one in four of us experience mental health imbalance at some point in our life. However, there are still many misconceptions around what ‘mental health’ is and means. Added to this is a general unevenness of mental health awareness verses physical health appreciation. We all have mental health and physical health, both can vary at different times in our lives depending on circumstances and events. We are all well aware of how to maintain or gain physical health. Even when it is ‘broken’ we have an understanding of how it can potentially be fixed. How many of us have the same understanding towards mental health?
I wish to share my personal and professional experience and knowledge of mental health to improve awareness and enhance our emotional wellbeing.
